CANTUS FIRMUS CHOIR WINS THE AWARD FOR THE BEST ORIGIN’S SONG IN THE PRESTIGIOUS AVILES CHORAL CONTEST
Avilés – On Saturday November 20 the choir Centelles Cantus Firmus Choir took part in the XXVII edition of the Villa de Avilés International Choral Contest (Asturias).
The competition that took place during three weeks of November ended on Saturday 27 with the prize presentation to the winners. The centellencs competed with choirs from all over Spain and won the Axuntabense’s Trophy of “Asturian Choirs Federation” with the “Molt lluny d’aquí” (Far away from here) sardana, of Josep Prenafeta in a poem by Marius Torres, as the best song from the orign region. The Choir is directed by Gabriel Miralles and it is the first time they joined a contest.
After this success, the Cantus Firmus Choir is encouraged to promote its wide repertoire, which is possible to listen in this website. Here you can also find all necessary information in order to join the group as a singer.
